Producer.

Producers make things happen. We research, pitch ideas, book guests, record and edit interviews, mix feature reporting and long-form storytelling, write scripts, chase breaking news, oversee quality control, archive, and act as the glue between hosts and organizations. I’ve done this work at Marketplace, The LAist (formerly KPCC), WHYY, NPR, The Gist, and Rocket Summer Productions (my own LLC). This is a small sample of the work I’ve produced.

Showrunner.

I have a skill for conceptualizing new shows and then making them a reality.

  • While at Marketplace, I was tasked with leading the launch of Marketplace Tech (originally called The Marketplace Tech Report).

  • At WHYY, I was part of a small team that launched The Pulse, a weekly hour-long health + science show that is now distributed by NPR.

  • At The Gist, I oversaw the launch of Not Even Mad, a weekly debate podcast featuring voices from across the political spectrum.

  • I partnered with Virginia Heffernan (Wired.com) and Stephen Metcalf (Slate Culture Gabfest) to create What Rough Beast, a podcast about what President Trump’s 2024 re-election means to the future of the Democratic Party.

More Work.

  • Consulted for Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, leading researchers and content creators through a series of workshops that ultimately resulted in their AirSpace podcast.

  • Produced a series of promotional spots for The Center for Investigative Reporting’s Reveal.

  • Editor-in-Chief of SURFER Magazine, writing dozens of profiles, including this one about Nathan Fletcher.

  • Wrote about surf culture for New York Magazine.

  • Created podcast pilots for The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (which I hosted) and Helen’s Wines.

  • Hosted a space-themed episode of The Pulse.
